The Venerable Battlebarge of the Astral Lions fleet is called ‘Emperors Pride’ and its attending fleet were stranded in the Dark Stars region of the Turbidious sector.

The Kabal of the Bleeding Lotus has only operated in the Turbidious Sector for a relatively short period of time. Using this turbulent time in the sector to great effect, the Kabal has sailed forth from the Dark City into the sector to pillage and take captives.
For those caught by the Kabal, maybe being a branded a heretic, eaten by tyranids or enslaved by the greater good isn’t as bad as it sounds. The Icarus is a Conquest Class Star Galleon, Captained by one Horatio Turbidious. The Captain will not provide details on how he has the Sectors name but there are many rumours. The Icarus is always accompanied by its escort squadron of light cruisers called Phobos and Deimos.
Like many sectors that have felt the touch of a Tyranid hivefleet tendril, the first time the Turbidious Sector knew of Hivefleet Wyvern was when several worlds simply stopped any astropath communication.
The eastern portion of the galaxy has experienced its fair share of Tyranid invasions and so the Sector quickly recognised the need to meet the threat head on. It was designated Hivefleet Wyvern. The Imperium has intercepted messages indicating a mass migration of Kroot Warspheres and other associated ships is occurring throughout the galaxy.
Recent reports suggest a large Tyranid splinter fleet is on route to the Kroot homeworld of Pech. It seems the shapers there have sent out a distress call to all Kroot throughout the galaxy to return and defend their homeworld. Stigmatus the Rotting commands the blessed nurgle fleets within the Turbidious Sector. A bloated and foul former space marine, Stigmatus commands the Plague Fleet from the ancient Despoiler Class Battleship ‘Nigrum Morte’.
The arrival of the Tau in the Turbidious Sector resulted in the creation of a separate Sept in the coreward edges of the Lockhead sub sector.
This Sept is a long way from the home worlds of the Tau and was the result of an unlikely meeting with a Hrud caravan migration (Tau Merchant). It was fortunate that the Tau fleet that met this Hrud caravan contained xenos races that could assist in the plotting of a course to a safe harbour to repair and refit their ships. The Kor’Vattra fleet of the Tau first arrived in the Turbidious system as part of the third phase of expansion.
Initially the Tau third sphere of expansion was thought to be focused on the area around the Damocles Gulf and while this is mostly correct it seems that during the splitting of the fleets by Commander Shadowsun a portion of the older Kor'Vattra fleet models extended themselves further than any other fleet. This has only now been matched by the fifth sphere of expansion after the creation of the startide nexus. However, how the Tau managed to come into the Turbidious sector was purely by chance. The main line Battlefleet for the Turbidious Sector is the Protectorate Fleet. It is one of three portions of the Battlefleet and it is by far the largest and most diverse portion of the Battlefleet. The other two portions are the Ironclad and Reserve Fleets. There is also an older portion of the Protectorate fleet that patrols just the Turbidious Sub-sector.
It is also by far the largest fleet in the Turbidious Sector but it still struggles to keep up with the demand put on it from the various threats. The strain has increased with the eruption of the warp storm in the Lockhead Sub-sector as well. However, if the whole fleet could muster at a single point then no other power in the sector would be able to compete with it. The Turbidious Sector provides men and materials to various other sectors but one of its oldest pacts is the one between Turbidious and Voss in the Segmentum Solar. A long standing trade pact, some 5000 years old, exists between the worlds.
It is a long trade route but has been a relatively stable route for thousands of years. One that has proven fruitful for both sectors, with both providing assistance to one another in times of strife. |
