Stigmatus the Rotting commands the blessed nurgle fleets within the Turbidious Sector. A bloated and foul former space marine, Stigmatus commands the Plague Fleet from the ancient Despoiler Class Battleship ‘Nigrum Morte’. The ‘Nigrum Morte’ first appeared over Askurn in the Lindholm Sub-sector as that world fell to the guns of the ruinous powers. The PDF forces stationed and the attendant Imperial fleet there were unable to prevent the loss of the planet. In fact the psychic screams heard the next system away by Imperial pyskers suggest the planets population had been utterly annihilated and turned into zombie servitude for the dark gods, a fate worse than death. The ‘Nigrum Morte’ Stigmatus now uses the planet as a base of operations to launch his patron god’s plagues. It is understood that Stigmatus has an intense jealousy of Papa Nurgles favoured son – Typhus and reports of the Herald of Nurgle’s arrive in the Turbidious Sector has sent Stigmatus into a frenzy. The Great Polluter is feverishly trying to spread further pestilence as to prevent the Herald upstaging him. So much so that Stigmatus has pulled together a powerful fleet dedicated to the god of decay. Intercepted astropath messages suggest a new horror has answered the call, a rare and terrible Desecrator Class Battleship has been sighted in the void stars area of the Turbidious Sector. Designated the ‘Carrion Lord’ the ship has mercilessly plundered shipping in the area and even destroyed an Adeptus Mechanicus fleet that was operating in the region. The ‘Carrion Lord’ The Grand Cruiser designated 'Rot Bane' A number of ships have been identified in the sector flying nurgle colours. There does not seem to be any reasoning behind attacks at this stage but it does appear the Nurgle Lord is looking for something. The Inquisition are looking into the potential link between the Polluters fleet and the other dark god fleets. They all appear to be searching for artefacts. A vile and corrupted cruiser floats in the void. Any ships vox within 500,000km returns a buzzing noise. Lord Stigmatus has gathered a number of former Death Guard marines into his cohort as well, all powerful former astartes. They are known as The Miasma due to a thick fog that evolopes them as they take the battlefield. This Miasma is toxic to breathe in and corrosion on dermal contact and thus far all attempts to study the substance has ened in failure.
This fog also surrounds the ships that have The Miasma aboard and so attempts to board those ships are impossible.
