The arrival of the Tau in the Turbidious Sector resulted in the creation of a separate Sept in the coreward edges of the Lockhead sub sector. This Sept is a long way from the home worlds of the Tau and was the result of an unlikely meeting with a Hrud caravan migration (Tau Merchant). It was fortunate that the Tau fleet that met this Hrud caravan contained xenos races that could assist in the plotting of a course to a safe harbour to repair and refit their ships. The Nicassar Dhows that were part of this initial Tau fleet managed to avoid much of the ageing issue the rest of the fleet suffered with and their adept space faring knowledge guided the fleet as a whole to a safe planet, with resources rich enough to replenish the fleet. Without these xenos then the fleet would have been doomed to disrepair and likely picked off by Imperial Patrols. It is for this reason that Commander Shas'la Me'lek guards this race heavily, if this Sept is to ever reach home again then the Nicassar will be key to that success. The presence of the Kroot Warsphere and escort of Battlespheres allowed the fleet to have a strong dependable core, the Warsphere being such a massive warship that often the pirate warbands encountered in systems would stay beyond weapon resolution distance. The pirates preferring to flee than to engage such a vast vessel. On the one occasion the Kroot Warsphere was engaged it was by a rather over confident Chaos pirate, the small raiding fleet contained mainly escort class ships but did have one traitor Lunar Class vessel. The Lunar was quickly turned to vaporised slag when it attempted to engage the Kroot warship at close range. The Demiurg commerce vessels present in the fleet secured vital raw materials from several asteroid fields that the fleet took refuge in during its journey. Without these vital materials the fleet would never have been able to make the warp transitions required to reach safety. The Demiurg also drove off a band of Ork pirates that tried to capture one of the messenger class escorts in the fleet. The Tau fleet also contains a curious group of older Imperial ships, these ships do not have any designation or recognised weapon configurations from the limited Rogue Trader scans obtained for the Imperium. All that is known is that the ships refer to themselves as the Diaspora and consist of human groups aligned to the Tau. A deep data archive review by the Cult Mechanicus suggests that the Disapora were a group of humanity that refused to join the Imperium during the Great Crusade and were all but wiped out. It seems that the extinction of this group was overestimated though and it is understood that there is a battlegroup level of Diaspora aligned to the Tau now. The Rogue Trader Captain Landra Sorenus identified that initially the Tau fleet that arrived in the Turbidious system only contained a small portion of this race, but as the Sept has grown more Diaspora have arrived and bolstered the Tau.
Coupled with the recent arrive of more Tau fleets in the system the Imperium now has a rather substantial enemy xenos race to contend with.

These are amazing. Really well-painted. Might I ask what the smaller warspheres are? I've never seen those before.
