The main line Battlefleet for the Turbidious Sector is the Protectorate Fleet. It is one of three portions of the Battlefleet and it is by far the largest and most diverse portion of the Battlefleet. The other two portions are the Ironclad and Reserve Fleets. There is also an older portion of the Protectorate fleet that patrols just the Turbidious Sub-sector. It is also by far the largest fleet in the Turbidious Sector but it still struggles to keep up with the demand put on it from the various threats. The strain has increased with the eruption of the warp storm in the Lockhead Sub-sector as well. However, if the whole fleet could muster at a single point then no other power in the sector would be able to compete with it. The fleet can be distinguished by its blue and white prows and it has some of the most experienced crews and captains in the sector. Due to this they are typically the main battle-groups deployed at any time and usually first respondents to a crisis. The Battlefleet is based at Port Invicta and has several other major ports within the sector, such as Port Harmony and The Bulwark. The fleet has several respected ships that are well-known through the region and have proved to be a bane to various enemies of the Imperium. The Mars Battlecruiser 'Havoc' has been at the forefront of various engagements in the Sector. The ‘Havoc’ has had numerous significant kills to her name. Most recently, she destroyed the Carnage class Chaos Cruiser ‘Ravage’ and crippled two other Chaos Carnage Cruisers within the Coinage Cluster. These traitor ships were later identified as ‘Terror’ and ‘Reaper’, her bombers waves and nova cannon dealt terrible damage on the archenemies ships before they could engage the Imperial transport fleet. A fourth traitor ship, designated ‘the Aggressor’ was present but fled the scene before it could be engaged and it is still at large. The ‘Emperors Castellan’, a Dominator Class cruiser has operated in numerous engagements and has distinguished itself as a ship of the line. The ‘Emperors Castellan’ has in total crippled and destroyed more ships than any other in the sector but is one of the unsung heroes of the fleet. The ‘Emperors Castellan’ was the cruiser that was victorious in recapturing the fallen hive world Capthia in the Bellenos Sub-sector. During the engagement the ‘Emperors Castellan’ crippled the renegade Tyrant Class cruiser and destroyed several escorts before turning its guns on the renegade Emperor battleship in the vicinity. This action resulted in the renegade fleet fleeing from the system and out into one of the outer rim systems. This action has all but wiped out the renegade fleet in the sub-sector. The Tau have been increasing in numbers in the northern fringe of the Lockhead sub-sector and the ‘Emperors Castellan’, along with its task force, wiped out an encroaching Tau fleet, with a nova cannon round destroying two Tau Light cruisers at the peak of the battle, this action turned the engagement and resulted in the destruction of the Tau fleet. The ‘Vanguard’ has guarded the main shipyards on the Forgeworld of Demios. This world has never been taken by enemy forces and is due in no small part to the presence of this formidable battleship. Lord Admiral Colm Bane now leads the Battlefleet and is in command of the mighty Apocalypse Class Battleship ‘Alexandria’. Its guns were instrumental in the destruction of the Despoiler Class Battleship belonging to the Contagion fleet named ‘Rottling’. Its destruction prevented the spread of the Great Polluters plagues in the Bellenos Sub-sector. Lord Admiral Bane & The Alexandria The warp rift in the Lockhead Sub-sector though has meant even this mighty fleet requires reinforcements. The Mechanicus Forgeworlds in the sector have redoubled their efforts and more press ganged haulers deliver men and women to the shipyards around Turbidious Prime. The forges of the shipyards run ever hotter as more ships are under construction than ever before. But will they be ready in time and will they be enough?
