AuthorJake Ball ‘We serve the emperor with the weapon to hand'
The vast reserve fleets of the bastion systems may be activated in the event of a major crisis, such as the fall of Cadia. In these times, any and all weapons which can serve the emperor are needed desperately. This can result in significantly more old pattern ships being active at one time than the more occasional battle casualty replacement seen in more normal times.

AuthorJake Ball After the defeat of the main chaos force at Perdition, the task now remained to relieve the valiant defenders of Kyrinov and find and punish the treacherous Admiral Scorpio. If they failed in this, the rebellion would rumble on, consuming more and more imperial resources which could be better spent elsewhere. Furthermore, Chaos forces would be granted more time to pillage the planet of its precious relics, and perhaps even to discover the location of the object of Inquisitor Cryptus’ original inquiries there, the Sutre of Faith.
AuthorJake Ball Road to Perdition
After the bloody sacrifice of the defenders of the Melliha line, there was enough time to hurriedly bring the Reserve Fleet up to readiness, along with scratch units formed from training units, a particularly important source of carriers, such as the Defiant class 'Argus', as well trained attack craft crews were not plentiful in the mothballed reserve fleet. A Chaos fleet under Lady Nassa Araberina was known to be incoming to support the Chaos advance guard and the treacherous battle fleet, and end the valiant resistance of the defenders of Kyrinov. AuthorJake Ball Holding the line.
Initially Hellbrecht intended to contemptuously blast straight through the pitiful imperial force arrayed before him, but when a salvo from the Space Station Hellespont and the ancient light cruiser Caledon caused superficial but disfiguring damage to his flagship, he flew into a towering rage and in a fit of pique swore to annihilate the defending ships to the last man. AuthorJake Ball Ambition and fool’s pride:
The rot started at Felspar. The mining world was of key importance to the sub sector and needed protecting. This task fell to the sub sector battlefleet, as the patrol fleet was already stretched very thin on longer range patrols and convoy protection. The battlefleet saw itself as an elite, and felt normal patrolling and securing the Emperors’ domain beneath them. From this pride, the seductive call of Slaanesh was but a whisper away, and gradually the fleet’s officers, led by Fleet Admiral Scorpio, became more and more detached and debauched. |
AuthorA place were your army/fleet background and pictures can be published. Would ideally like to help contribute to the sectors narrative but its not necessary Archives
