AuthorJake Ball Commodore Burridge needed a ship. It required long endurance and the ability to patrol for long periods with minimal outside support, some attack craft for scouting and defence against pirates, as well as planetary assault, with a broadside and hull resilience sufficient to hold its own against a line cruiser and dominate a light cruiser. The answer lay in the large numbers of the relatively unpopular tyrant class cruiser that many other Battlefleets saw as inferior to the lunar in the line of battle yet insufficiently flexible for solo work.
