AuthorTurbidious for - Doublebasefanatic, Italianmoose , Horizonmcr Hello all admirals,
With the advent of 3d printing Battlefleet Gothic has had a new influx of players. To help get players into the game easier Doublebasefanatic, Italianmoose , Horizonmcr have created a new starter pack. This is a great little one stop shop created by the guys to provide an easy access into BFG. Its a great effort by them. Click read more for the pack and description. AuthorCredits in book. So over the past few months the BFG discord has been working hard to put together a fan supplement and this won't be the only one!
The team has put together a great book with three new fleets and they all will have models.... AuthorXcalibur, Aus30k, Krafty Juárez and Turbidious. You may have heard mention of a project earlier in the year, BFG2020 or BFG:APA, which was primarily focused on incorporating an Alternating Player Activation mechanic into BFG. The first stage of this project is now completed thank to the hard work of Xcalibur (creator of BFGXR), Aus30k, Krafty Juárez and myself.
Previously I uploaded a source for all the community created Warp Rift magazines. I did this because the usual source for them had been taken down and it wasnt clear on when it might be back.
With the site going down again and a recent discussion on the Facebook pages about keeping as much of this game alive and trying to preserve as much of the history of the game as possible, I thought it would be a good idea to have another source location for the Fanatic pdf documents. These were additional rules and scenarios that were written by several authors and released to the community to game with. At Adepticon in 2010 (dear lord emperor thats nearly 10 years ago!) several scenarios were played for the tournament held. One of those scenarios involved a Black Hole.
Space has always intrigued me and Black Holes are one of those topics that has intrigued me the most. So the idea of being able to incorporate one into a game of BFG is an awesome one to me.
It was sad to see the Specialist Games Forum cease to exist this week, it was a bastion of all things specialist games and it brought back memories of when another battlefleet gothic site when the way of the warp (Port Maw).
Now the latest is that the forum will be back and re-hosted somewhere. However, just in case it isn't or it ever falls again I thought it would be worth having at least one other location you can find all the rules. So..... Back when Battlefleet Gothic was still supported by games workshop the community was one of the most active out of all the specialist games. They created a lot of fan made content and one of the best was Warp Rift Magazine.
Some new to the hobby may not be aware of these fan created online magazines but they were a source of inspiration to me and others and still are. One aspect of the hobby that I love is creating our own characters, armies and themes, as Im sure many of you do too. This website is an example of me trying to do just that after all.
While Games Workshop has just given us better ability to do just that in 40k with the character creation rules they have just released they never did anything like that for Battlefleet Gothic. So what to do? I was originally going to write a basic rules overview for BFG for this article but I thought that could be done another day should there be demand for it. So I have made the assumption here that you dear reader know the basic rules of Battlefleet Gothic already.
So for this article instead I decided to ask the community as to what their most commonly asked questions were. I asked the community over of various facebook pages as to some of the more common head scratching questions about the game that left them stumped, and there were some good ones. |
