At Adepticon in 2010 (dear lord emperor thats nearly 10 years ago!) several scenarios were played for the tournament held. One of those scenarios involved a Black Hole. Space has always intrigued me and Black Holes are one of those topics that has intrigued me the most. So the idea of being able to incorporate one into a game of BFG is an awesome one to me. The rules and scenario for the Black Hole is below (apologies for the poor image), the full pdf is available for download below the picture too: Download File:
The scenario essentially meant your ships were pulled towards a particular table edge each turn and while this could be daunting I think this could be easily avoided depending upon the second objective too. So I thought what could make it more interesting and so I thought maybe what if the black hole wasnt the table edge but on the table itself? So a threw a few bits of polystyrene and card together: Gave it a lick of paint, attempting to re-create the recent NASA image (as above). It is rough and well could be get in all honesty but it does the job I think. The idea being this was now a black hole that could be placed in various locations on the table to change up the scenario a bit. What do you think, would you give this a go? What ideas and missions do you think this could involve?
My thought was you could place it in the middle of the table and fight around it, trying to avoid being pulled into it each turn and the moment a base touched the ring it would be destroyed. This could be for planets and asteroids and hulks too. Maybe your ships need to dock with a station to rescue someone before its sucked into the black hole?
