I paint slowly, I have to admit that. I tend to think of a project idea and by the time I obtain all the pieces to make it I have moved onto the next project. This means I tend to have plenty of bits, half made pieces or undercoated models ready for the brush but still sitting in the box. However, when I eventually finish a project or a particularly nice model that I am proud of I don’t want it just sitting in a box, draw or carry case. I want to display the piece, but the issue with dust and damage is of real concern.
So how do you address that? Well some people are lucky enough to have dedicated rooms or garages but I do not have that luxury unfortunately. Some have whole glass cabinets to display but I do not have the room to have these either, so I went for a more economic method of display – cheap plastic hobby cases. These were bought from a cheap Japanese store here in Sydney called Diaso. I think the largest was $6 AUD in the end. They are advertised for ceramic or glass items for display or even for trains but they serve their purpose quite well for little men and ships, well I think so anyway. I am yet to find larger ones that could house a knight or baneblade so if you find any please let me know.
