With the birth of the Living Saint Emmelia on the world of Nightfall Primus, the Turbidious Sector had a figure to rally behind as they challenged the Chaos incursion. The Chaos Warmaster Abel Vargas recognised the threat the Saint posed to his plans and aimed to crush her outright but the Chaos Lord was not counting on the quick response of the Imperium to their new hero. The Imperial Guard rallied quickly to support the Saint when she first appeared, with General Vokes and his 32nd Army Battlegroup aiding her in winning the war on Nightfall Primus. The Saint helped lead from the front and annihilated the Chaos Warhost on that world. The Saint even defeated one of the Warmaster’s chosen lieutenants, lucky for them the whims of the Chaos Gods blew favourably for the lieutenant and they were spirited away before a killing blow could come. The Guard and Navy then traveled as protection to the Shrine World of ‘The Order of the Holy Lady’ with the Saint, with the planet located in the Lindholm Sub-sector. The world has large Adeptus Sororitas Cathedral and coven. The world also has a contingent of Sisters of Silence that now could fly under the banner of a Living Saint. With the Sisters now under the wings of the Saint Battlefleet Turbidious also rallied to her call to arms and in a show of the utmost respect they provided a powerful warship from which to lead her counter crusade. Formally called ‘Divine Right’, the ship was docked at Port Invicta and was in dry dock for extensive refit and repairs. The ship was a Lunar class cruiser but after extensive damage from a raid from Ork pirates around Bulwark asteroid belt the ships lance platforms and prow could not be repaired. Consequently, the lance decks were replaced with hangers, with now fighter and bomber wings able to utilise the space vacated by the former conduits and cabling. The prow was also completely destroyed and so using another crippled ships Voss prow it was re-purposed and a refitted. The ship became a Dictator Class carrier ship and was gifted to Saint Emmelia who renamed her ‘The Emperors Wrath’. While the lance batteries decks couldn’t be repaired some of the power couplings and now redundant systems could be diverted to other aspects of the ship and so the Adeptus Mechanicus rerouted these into improving the ships shields and auger arrays. Additionally, with the technology open to the Priests of Mars they were able to salvage and add a single lance battery to dorsal spine of the ship. The Ship is costed at 300 points. With the Saint on board the ship’s crew are inspired, with her presence improving morale. The Saints presence increases leadership of the ship by +2 to any leadership roll to a maximum of 10. Due to a full contingent of Sisters aboard the ship, boarding actions are dangerous to those who attempt to attack the ship and also from the boarding torpedoes and assault craft that the ship can send out. Consequently, boarding actions are +2. Due to their love for the saint, pilots will attempt to stay in the fight for her - Bombers and Fighters remain in play on a roll of 4+. The Living Saint Emmelia is a key Imperial warlord and will not be sacrificed on a whim; consequently if the ‘The Emperors Wrath’ drops to one hull point left the ship will attempt to disengage at the start of the players next turn. A leadership test is made on the ship, if it passes then the ship leaves, if it fails then the ship stays. This test is completed every turn until the ship leaves or is destroyed. If the critical hit of 'Bridge Smashed' is ever rolled then on a roll of 6+ the Saint has been injured and must concentrate on her own injuries. Consequently, no acts of faith may be used and the leadership of the entire fleet is reduced by -3 due to the loss of morale in losing the Saint. Acts of faith
Additionally the Saint inspires the crew beyond their usual faith and allows for Acts of Faith to be performed once per turn. There are three acts of faith that can be performed. Martyrdom – If the ship is on Brace for Impact Special Orders the Saint inspires the ship and crew to shrug off potential damage as the ship weathers the storm of fire - after hits you can roll failed brace for impact dice once per turn (i.e roll the failed 4+ roll). Hand of the Emperor - When firing the main macro cannons the presence of the Saint doubles the concentration and alertness of the crew. The ship can fire her weapons batteries as if locked on once per game without needing to pass a leadership test. Divine Guidance – The Saint provides a rousing speech across all vox networks inspiring acts of faith and buoying crews hearts. This increases the leadership of all friendly ships within 20cm by +2 for that turn. This can be used once per game.
