The capital world of the Turbidious Sector is Turbidious Primaris, which is located at the heart of the Sector and it is a powerful and wealthy world. Due to its location at the centre of the Sector with good warp routes to and from the system, Turbidious Prime grew into an industrial powerhouse, with its resource rich crust providing the early wealth for the planet to develop. Eventually as resources were depleted the planets governor switched more to trade, with merchant guilds rising in power. These guilds now control most of the power on the world. The vast guild halls and commerce stations across the planet mean that huge resources come through the planet from across the whole sector, with older industrial areas given over to producing various products for the Imperium from ration tins, tank rivets, munitions, vox wires all the way up to siege engines. Trade halls are used for barter and to move vast amounts of food and munitions through the sector and beyond. A Guild Hall on Turbidious This is an amazing picture I found on Pinterest, link is here: https://www.pinterest.com.au/pin/479070479084669020/ It was through these trade halls that resources could be re-routed to assist Armageddon in the third war, a task that was rewarded with the Ironclad fleet that was gifted to the Turbidious sector. So much of the sectors wealth travels through the capital world that the Adeptus Ministorum calculates that 74.32% of all trade in the sector is conducted on Turbidious Prime. It’s a big target for enemies of the Imperium. Due to this Turbidious Primaris is home to Battlefleet Turbidious and their primary base of operations Port Invicta. The Port sits at high anchor has a variety of births for the Battlefleet, with numerous defense platforms, space stations and even several starforts being present to defend the world. Minefields and asteroid gun emplacements help defend the out reaches of the system and help restrict the approach to the capital as well. The world has been attacked and nearly lost on two occasions, but the Imperial Navy has just managed to hold. Only time will tell if the world can hold out again. A vast amount of space on Port Invicta is given over to the merchant vessels which sail the void. For without these merchant vessels the sector would quickly fall to the predations of pirates, xenos and heretics alike. As well as the Battlefleet being present the task of defending the merchants often falls to the defense monitor ships that scout and patrol the system and aim to detect any potential threats. These monitors can often be overlooked but pose a serious threat to any that would ignore their firepower. In fact in the last ‘Battle for Turbidious’ three plucky defense monitors sailed into the heart of the Chaos Incursion fleet and fired their double broadside guns, destroying a Slaughter class cruiser and crippling another Murder Class before they were obliterated but combined fire. While a lot of the merchant fleet consists of the smaller craft, there are much larger vessels used, with old Castellan ships used now as vast stores for grain and food stuffs. It is also a common sight to see Adeptus Mechanicus carriers at Port Invicta, with the ships transporting raw materials to and from the capital world to the Forgeworlds in the Lockhead and Lindholm Sub-sectors for processing. A less common sight but one that always creates a flurry of activity across the world in anticipation of what treasures maybe bought is when a Rogue Trader returns from a voyage. The holds of these mysterious craft always stirs the world into frantic trade as the various guilds fight to be able to stock and then sell the potential exotic goods found. When the Rogue Trader Selina Luce returned from her voyage in the dangerous Bandit Expanse she brought with her tales of a lost human colony, which had ancient and spectacular technology. Captain Luce brought with her examples of better vox technology, better targeting scope arrays, higher yielding seed crops for something the colony called ‘wheat’ and finally an odd little animal that was rumoured to have been from old earth. The Adeptus Mechanicus bartered for this information, as was their right, and now seek this lost colony. Transports departing the world, with escort ready and waiting to take them to the warp point.
