The overall command of the Chaos Warhost lies with Warmaster Vargas. While he wears the mantle of leadership and directs the various facets of the Black Crusade in the Turbidious Sector Vargas allows his lieutenants to act freely to some degree. One of the highest regarded lieutenants is Lady Nassa Araberina who commands the Exquisite Host fleet and her patron God is the Prince of Pleasure Slaanesh. Vargas eight lieutenants are afforded plenty of autonomy and instructed to sow Chaos however they see fit as long as they are ready to answer their Warmasters call immediately. Additionally, the Warmaster may instruct the lieutenants on specific missions and direct them, for only he knows the true purpose of the Black Crusade. However, this autonomy allows the lieutenants to satisfy their own natures and Gods and so the arrangement is tolerated and none would dare challenge Vargas for leadership…not yet anyway. Lady Araberina was once a canoness of a now destroyed Sisters of Battle coven, her fall has been kept quiet by the Imperium and the Imperial dogs are lucky in some ways that both Araberina and her fellow Sisters that turned with her no longer resemble the women they used to be. Now a terrible Daemon Prince for her patron God, Araberina leads a powerful warhost in its own right. Leading from the bridge aboard the ‘Host of Torments’, the Slaaneshi hordes have been let loose in the Turbidious Sector. Lady Araberina was reluctant at first to join Vargas but the Warmaster offered a compelling gift that a follower of Slaanesh could never refuse. So it was that Vargas bought the allegiance of the Queen of Excellence with a device called the Soul Slicer. A device that Vargas’s lead Dark Mechanicus torturer created in the bowels of the fallen Eldar Craftworld of Lanruin, it cuts the very soul of the individual that’s placed into the confines of its chamber. The device can cut, strip and slice the poor creature’s very essence and keep them in pain for hundreds of years if needed. The device was tested on Eldar captives from the now corrupted Craftworld and Lady Araberina yearned for it once knowledge of the device was fed to her. She now uses the device to extract the souls of Eldar for her patron God, much to his delight. Her goals are to eradicate the Eldar and provide as many of their souls to Slaanesh as possible and for that reason the Exquisite Host will follow any leads that may bring them into contact with any of the Craftworld, Corsair or Exodite Eldar in the Sector. The Host of Torments is an ancient ship that willfully will seek out Eldar souls. The Host of Torments is a unique vessel; only one may ever be in a Chaos fleet. It is a ponderous vessel and may not use Come To New Heading special orders. Additionally, it must be used with the following special rules.
Flagship: If chosen, the Host of Torments must be used as the fleet‟s flagship and have its Warmaster placed aboard it unless the Planet Killer is also present, in which case a Chaos Lord must lead it. Mark of Slaanesh: This ship bears the Mark of Slaanesh as part of its point cost; it does not have to be paid for separately by the ship‟s commander. It may only have the mark of Slaanesh. The threat of the Soul slicer puts any Eldar on edge when facing this vessel. Any Eldar fleet that fights this ship will have a -1 to their overall commanders leadership
