An Adeptus Mechanicus explorer fleet has been sailing in the Turbidious sector for lost technology and information for longer that the sector governor’s records extend. The Enyo Forgeworld in the Lindholm Subsector has typically been their base of operations, with a large amount of fleet repair facilities present in the space around the Forgeworld. The Enyo forge is well known across the sector for producing the standard macro shells and torpedos used by the Imperial Navy. Much of the Forgeworld’s production is sent to Turbidious Primes Naval dock called Port Invicta for refitting of the Battlefleet. The Ad Mech fleet was understood to be searching the outer most realms of the Galilei subsector, specifically around a potentially long lost human world, there have been astopath reports of a pre great crusade human fleet. However, the arrival of the Lions of the Void Space Marine Chapter in the Lockhead Subsector has seen the Mechanicus smiths turn their attention to the long lost chapter. Recent fabricator general reports have suggested that chapter may have specialist technology. Having a chapter suddenly return from the warp after thousands of years of absence has seen the smiths of the fleet keen to investigate if the chapter has any secrets in their ships worth learning and they are willing to bring chapter to heel if needed. The Mechanicus are not alone is seeking out the chapter though, with the Inquisition also keen to speak with the masters of the chapter about where they have been for the past few thousand years. The Ad Mech fleet consists of a varying degree of explorer ships, escorts, fuel ships and mainline cruisers. However, the pride of the fleet is the ‘Ommissahs Wisdom’, an Ark battleship that bristles with weaponry. It is the flagship of Magos Explorator Felicia Jayum. The Magos has been quite successful in the Sector, having identified a STC for the Dominion class cruiser on the Demios Forgeworld and also a more efficient fuel storage unit on Vangen for flamers. These flamers are now in use as part of the so called ‘firedrakes’ in the Vangen Dragoons Imperial Guard Regiments. The Dominion class cruiser has already had four hulls built but have seen some mixed fortunes. The fleet also has an older class of ship, a ship so old that is it believed to have been part of the great crusade. The ‘Emperors Gift’ defies standard imperial classification and the Ad Mech fleet is quick to prevent any other than their own from boarding her. It seems her secrets are for the cult to know alone. However, when operating with the Imperial Navy it is understood she has proved to be an exemplary support ship, with powerful broadsides. The Ad Mech fleet is quite unique in only containing escorts designated as the Falcion class of ships. These are usually only seen in the Armageddon fleets but have seen action with the cult. Their use were one of the reasons that the Voss shipyards gifted several ships to aid the Turbidious Battlefleet 100 standard years ago when the systems capitol was invaded by a Chaos Warhost. These escort ships are often seen patrolling the stable warp routes between the Forgeworlds.
